Emre Palta, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering
Tekirdağ Namık Kemal University · Türkiye
I study how materials and structures respond to impact. My work combines computational solid mechanics and nonlinear finite element analysis, with applications in woven fabrics, protective structures, and crashworthiness. My current interests also include architected materials and the relationship between geometry and mechanical response.
I received my M.S. and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, following a B.S. from Uludağ University. At Tekirdağ Namık Kemal University, I also serve as Vice Chair of the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
My teaching covers mechanics, numerical methods, and structural design. I use student design-and-build projects to connect analysis with physical testing.
